The Lamp supports children’s reading and writing!

The Lamp is a passionate supporter of children’s literacy, and is delighted to announce a new initiative, developed and led by our Trustee Abi Elphinstone!

Abi is a bestselling children's author whose stories have been translated into multiple languages across the globe. She speaks at schools, libraries and literary festivals across the UK, championing the transformative power of reading and writing. At the Lamp, Abi builds on creative opportunities for young people within the community. She has recently helped set up a library at Stenton Primary School, and writes stories with the children there every week.  We are delighted that this is already having a positive impact, in terms of pupils’ interest and engagement with both reading and writing, and hope to develop this initiative further in future!
