Our Vision

We aim to change lives by providing opportunities for the whole community.

Enabling the community to thrive

Over Fifty Years of Community Support

We provide creative space for East Lothian, and support a wide range of cultural, artistic and social activities. We offer accommodation, collaboration and financial assistance.

Vision and mission

Our trustees share leadership and direction by ensuring there is a clear framework that supports projects and facilities that enable our community to thrive. The Lamp's trustees play a very important role in making sure that the charity is run in the interests of the people it is there to support. They strategically oversee the management and administration of the organisation.

Values

Our charity is based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility and equality. We believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.

Strategy

Our Trustees ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the benefit of the community. We plan what the charity will do, and what we want it to achieve. With our co-trustees, we make balanced and adequately informed decisions, thinking about the long term as well as the short term.

Impact

We manage our charity’s resources responsibly, reasonably and honestly. We make sure the charity’s assets are used to carry out its purposes of making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community. Our co-trustees put appropriate procedures and safeguards in place and take reasonable steps to ensure that these are followed. We act with reasonable care and skill, demonstrating that our charity is complying with the law, that it is well run and effective.

What You're Saying

Attending classes run by PACC, at the Lamp of Lothian, provides wonderful opportunities, in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Wood is a sensual material, and working with it brings you closer to nature. Often starting from scratch, students can make remarkably rapid progress.
