Haddington Community Choir - First Performance!

Launched in April 2022, singing strangers came together for the first time, uniting to form the Haddington Community Choir, with plans to perform jointly during the upcoming summer season. The Lamp of Lothian is backing this ambitious initiative, with music teacher Kenny Hutchison at the helm of the group. Given the challenges that many choirs faced due to the Covid pandemic, Hutchison saw the opportunity to create a new musical endeavor, open to all in the community.

Over 25 individuals have already joined the choir, which will hold weekly gatherings every Saturday from 2.30 pm to 4 pm at Haddington's Bridge Centre. The nine-week program will culminate in a concert in Haddington, featuring popular music and possibly some jazz standards. The repertoire will be tailored based on the participants' preferences and abilities, making it an enjoyable and inclusive community venture.

The choir's inaugural performance at St Mary's Church was a great success! An amazing £810 was raised for Siobhan's Trust!
